Faith Builders

1 John 5:4

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, [even] our faith.

Since faith is the victory that over comes the world, it is important that we build our faith every chance we get.

Sayings of Faith

Below are some sayings of faith, faith does not speak the circumstances or the situation, faith speaks the word.

-Faith always blows the rams horn, before, not after, the walls are down

Joshua 6:1-16

16 And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city.

-When the people shouted the walls was still up, by being obedient to God’s Word when they shouted the victory shout then the walls fell down.

-Faith never judges according to the sight of the eyes, because it is the evidence of things not seen

Heb. 11:1-Faith rest on far more solid ground than the evidence of the senses, and that is the Word of God which “abideth for ever”.

-Our senses may deceive us but God’s Word never can

-You can be deceived by Magic or illusions, but the Word of God will never deceive you

-All that a man of faith needs “is to know what God has spoken.”

-Fallen nature is governed by what it sees, by its senses, but faith is governed by the pure Word of God and is nothing less than expecting God to do what He promises.

-“Smith Wigglesworth” I’m not moved by what I see, I’m not moved by what I feel, I’m moved only by the Word of God

-Faith believes that God has heard its prayer. Because it believes it expects and looks for changes. It keeps looking for it until it is there

-Smith Wigglesworth: “There is something about faith that will cause God to pass over a million people to get to you”

# 2Chron 16:9

-Positive confession leads to the faith that creates matter, alters matter. and changes matter.

1.Gen. 1God Said

-Strong faith is the result of rich fellowship with God. It comes from hearing Him speak in His Word

-Noah believed and prepared an ark for the saving of his house. FAITH PREPARES!

-When you are walking by faith you are walking in the miraculous. Man’s mind limits you, but faith takes you into the realm where all things are possible.

Matthew 19:26But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Mark 9:23Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

-The acid test of faith is obedience. Don’t lean to your own understanding.

Pro. 3:4-5

-Don’t talk, think on, emphasize what you don’t know or you begin to lose what you do know.

1.I don’t know how I am going to make it

2.… Don’t know what I am going to do

-If you are going to get different results from the rest of the world you are going to have to live differently.

-In the time of storm tie yourself to something that won’t move (like the Word of God) and weather the storm

1.Matthew 7:24

2.Luke 6:48

-Three words sum up the concepts of faith; believe, receive, and act \

Mark 5:25-34

# Heb 11:13

-Believe:They were persuaded of the promises Receive:They embraced them. Act:They confesses that they were only strangers and pilgrims (on journey to the Promised land. [the no. 1 action of faith is through what you say.

-A faith confession has no power until the heart is persuaded and has embraced it.

3 John 2

-When you know what faith is you can discern it. e.g. the two greatest indicators are joy and peace.

-Fear is inverted faith .i.e. faith in the devil. They are persuaded that the enemy can do bad things to them and they are expecting them to happen.

-Fear gives the devil the legal right to work. Faith gives God the legal right to work.

-Build into yourself the consciousness of what God says you are in Christ. In Christ you are just as healed as you are saved. You don’t experience salvation in the new birth until you believe. it is the same with healing and prosperity.

Romans 10:9-10

-His victory is your victory. Refuse to be called the things that are contrary to what you have and are in Christ.

Jer 17:14

-The same thing is for healing and salvation. If you believe you are healed just as you believe you are saved your body will have to change.

-” Ex 14:10″ Faith talks strangely in the face of circumstances. Vs. 15 “Go Forward!”

-Pharaoh drew near. v.13 Faith talks strangely in the face of circumstance. It looked more as if the Israelites would be seen no more but Moses spoke faith.

-Vs 15 “Go forward!””Where?”Where youare looking is seems impossible. Everyone knows it is impossible. That is the best time for God to work, in situations of impossibility.

-This was a new concept to them. The sea was not in the babit of dividing.

# Ex 14:29;15:8

-v.21. The Lord did it. See v.29 and 15:8. Literal reasoning doesn’t make it.-Dry land,- Walls of water! It has to be recognized as a supernatural phenomenon.God can do it. Their faith had something to do with it. It took faith to step out.

-The Red Sea represented an impossible barrier but God supernaturally made a way through; crossing the uncrossable; passing the impassable.

-Water is also symbolic in Scripture. It is used of people, Holy Spirit, problems.Ps.66.

-“By the breath” = same word as spirit. It was The Spirit of The Lord that made the way; not by might nor by power but by the miracle working Power of God.

-Listen, obey, step forward, and watch.

-The wind was greater than the water. The breath (Spirit) of The Lord is greater than anything that could come against you

-The Lord can make the way but you have to go through! He won’t push or drag or force you. It’s up to your faith. It took faith to go through the way that the Wind of The Lord had made. You have to keep going step after step trusting God until you get to the other side.

-The Egyptians: You would think that they would have said: “Hey, don;t mess withthese people. Look what their God has done.” Hardened hearts make people dumb! They “assayed” = attempted, they tried.

-You need to know you have heard from God and you GO! If you have a plan B for if this doesn’t work then you are not fully committed You don’t “try” the Word. It tries you. If it doesn’t work then it has tried you and you have failed.

-The Egyptians tried it and got swallowed up. The Israelites believed it and went through. It was to be the same action for both, – going through. Pharaoh’s army wasn’t told by God to do what Israel did. They tried what worked for Israel who were told to go through by God.

-Some people try things to see if they can move God’s hand. “Trust” implies that you are depending on God to get it done. “Try” implies that you are depending on your own efforts.

-Quit trying and trust.

-The Lord has to wait until we get all the kick out of us before He can save us from drowning. i.e. when we cease trying and struggling in our own efforts.

-If you really give a situation t God you take your hands off of it. Admit that you can’t do it and leave it in God’s hands. Many folk don’t want this to be an answer but it is.

-Some people try things to see if they can move God’s hand. “Trust” implies that you are depending on God to get it done. “Try” implies that you are depending on your own efforts. Quit trying and trust.

Jesus The Healer

The bible says in Acts 10:38 “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”

So we see that Jesus went about doing good and healing all, the bible says that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. Heb. 13:8

Therefore Jesus (the Word John 1:1) is still doing good and healing today. Many think that when bad things happen that God is the one doing it, but the bible says in John 10:10 that it is the thief that comes to kill still and destroy.

Jesus came to give us life and give it to us more abundantly.

Many people blame God for sickness or disease, and they wonder why God put that on them,

God is not working against Himself.

The bible says in:

Mt 8:16  When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with [his] word, and healed all that were sick:

Mt 8:17  That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,  Himself took our infirmities, and bare [our] sicknesses

If Jesus took our infirmities and he bare our sickness, then he is not making people sick, the bible plainly tells us that it is satan that kills, steals, and destroys.

Let’s establish the fact that God is good and the devil is bad,

Jas 1:17  Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

If it is not good and perfect it is not from God, and I have never seen a good sickness or disease, have you?

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly.

God is not a thief, therefore if any thing steals, if anything kills or if any thing destroys, it is not from God .

Many blame God for the things that the devil does, and in many cases it turns people away from God .

Would you want to serve a God that makes you sick?

Some have said even Ministers that at the death of a young child, that God took them, because he needed another flower in heaven.

How do you think an unbelieving father would take that? He would say if that is the way God is, I don’t want to serve him.

Another Scripture in Luke 13 talks about the woman with a spirit of infirmity, this lady had been bound for 13 years, when Jesus made her whole and the rulers and the religious leaders got mad because it was the Sabbath, he said to them;

Lu 13:16  And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham,  whom Satan hath bound lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?

Notice that it was satan that had bound her or made her sick, for 18 years.

The bible plainly tells us that Jesus himself bore our sickness, and he took our diseases.

Lets look at some scriptures

Isa 53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

The Hebrew word for griefs is translated sickness 12 times and disease 7 times and literal means sickness

Isa 53:5  But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Lets look at some other translations

The bible in Basic English says

Isa 53:4 But it was our pain he took, and our diseases were put on him: while to us he seemed as one diseased, on whom God’s punishment had come.

Isa 53:5 But it was for our sins he was wounded, and for our evil doings he was crushed: he took the punishment by which we have peace, and by his wounds we are made well.

 The Youngs Literal Translation

Isa 53:4  Surely our sicknesses he hath borne, And our pains—he hath carried them, And we—we have esteemed him plagued, Smitten of God, and afflicted.

Isa 53:5  And he is pierced for our transgressions, Bruised for our iniquities, The chastisement of our peace [is] on him, And by his bruise there is healing to us.

 The Amplified

Isa 53:4 Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows   pains  of punishment yet we  ignorantly; considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God  as if with leprosy

Isa 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt  and iniquities; the chastisement  ;needful to obtain ; peace  well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes  ;that wounded ; Him we are healed    made whole

We can see by this scripture that Jesus took our pains and our sicknesses, if He took them and He bore them, then there is no need for us to.

And it was by the strips that were place upon his body that provided healing for us.

The bible says that by the mouth of two or three witness let every word be established.

2Co 13:1 ¶ This [is] the third [time] I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. So that is one, lets look at some others.

1Pe 2:24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Here again we see the Apostle Peter, saying that Jesus bare our sins when he was on the tree (cross) and it was by His strips that we were healed.

Were is past tense, In Isa. 53 it says that by His strips ye are, that is looking to the future, but here in 1 Peter he said that we were healed that means that Jesus provided healing for us when he was on the Cross.

Another Scripture in Mat. 8:16-17 > When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with [his] word, and healed all that were sick:

Mt 8:17  That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare [our] sicknesses.

Verse 17 Matthew is quoting Isaiah chapter 53

If Jesus is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow he is still providing healing for us today, healing is going to come through his word.

Principles Of Faith

The Word of God has a lot to say about faith, the following are a series of sermons on faith. If people will adhere to these principles they will be victorious in every area of their life.

The bible says in;

Heb 11:6 But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

We all want to please God,  so walking in faith will be pleasing to God.

The Bible also says in;

1Jo 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, [even] our faith. {is born: Gr. has been born}

The bible tells us that if we are born again we can overcome the world, and that means every thing that is in the world. The way we do that is by faith so we can see that faith is important.

This series of sermons is called Principles of Faith

We have already established that faith is important.

The devil will do everything he can to hinder your faith,

He will try to get you in doubt and unbelief.  He will try to keep you ignorant of the Word of God. He will try to get you to believe doctrine or tradition

Faith is a life style 2 Corinthians 5:7 says

(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

That has the connotation of a life style

There are Principles of faith

1. If people would learn these principles and put them into practice They would see  there faith would grow exceedingly

4. Did you know your faith could grow?

2 Thessalonians 1:3 We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;

1. Side trip… notice love has something to do with it also, the bible says that faith works by love

Principles according to the dictionary is:

  • the basic way in which something works,
  • the primary source of something

There are nine principles of faith, or things that are associated with faith that we will be looking at:

1. Saying & believing.

2. Forgiving and walking in Love (Faith worketh By Love ) (Mark 11:25-26)

3. Calling those things that be not as though they are

4. Looking not at that what is seen

5. Acting on the world

6. Casting not away your confidence

7. Standing on the Word

8. Holding fast to your profession

9. Faith and patience

We will be looking at these nine principles in the following weeks, I believe that they will help you to be victorious in all affairs of life.

What About God?

What does it mean to receive salvation and be born again?  John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the  world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever shall believe on Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” Being saved is God’s will for your life, He loves you and wants you to have eternal life with Him in heaven!

You may tell people “Well, I’m going to heaven because I’m a good person,” John 3:3 says “Jesus answered and said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he can not see the  kingdom ofGod.”

“What do I do to be born again?” you ask. The answer is so simple.Romans 10:9-10 tells us, “That if  you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart, you believe unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”  Matthew 7:8 tells us “If you ask, you  shall receive…”

There are three simple steps to being saved:

1. Acknowledge in your heart that Jesus is the Son of God.

2. Believe that Jesus died for your sins and that God raised Him from the dead.

3. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is the Son of God.

If you agree with those steps you are ready to pray for your salvation.

Speak to God from your heart and repeat this prayer:

“Dear God, I believe in my heart that Jesus is Your Son, I believe that You raised Him from the dead, and today I receive Him as my Savior and make Him my Lord.  Thank you for hearing me and for forgiving me, and for changing me into a new creature with the life of Jesus inside me.  I promise to live for You the rest of my days.  Thank you Father, In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

If that was the first time you’ve prayed a prayer like this then you’re saved!  You may not feel different but you are a new creature in Christ, Praise God!

Let Us Know!

Finding God Again!

If you are already saved but have walked away from God and need to restore your relationship with Him, confession is a good way to start. Be specific about what you need forgiveness for so you can cleanse and get out all the bad things in your spirit. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9.

You can use this prayer as a guide:

“Heavenly Father, I ask you to forgive me for… (be  specific). I receive my forgiveness for the things I  have confessed because Your Word says, “If  we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our  sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” So I stand before You clean, thank you Lord, in Jesus’  name, Amen.”
All you need to do is believe God and take Him at His Word that He has forgiven you and you are restored! Don’t let the devil use guilt to tell you that you are not forgiven. Build your faith and strengthen your relationship with God by reading your Bible and talking to Him every day!  Come to church to grow in your relationship with your new Father.

See you Sunday!

God’s Medicine

Always have an open mind and a receptive heart,

You can believe things and you can be sincere

But you can be sincerely wrong

Don’t base what you believe on what you have heard other people say

Base your belief on what the Word of God says

What you believe has to do with your faith in that area

I can’t change what you believe, only you can do that

Proverbs 4:20-22

20 ¶ My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.

21Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.

22For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. {health: Heb. medicine}

In the original Hebrew, this scripture literally says that God’s Word is medicine to our flesh

(A marginal note in my King James Version substitutes the word medicine for the word health)

Think about this: What if someone invented a medication that could cure anything wrong with the human body?

He would be rich overnight; People would take that medicine diligently to make sure it worked.

Well, if we would just give God’s promises on healing the same credibility we give the medicines developed by medical science, we would have 100 times the results!

Now I am not against medical doctors, doctors are good and they are in the same business that Jesus is in.

That is getting people well. God has given doctors the wisdom and knowledge and the know how to help people.

If people’s faith is not strong enough to believe God totally for their healing, they can believe that the doctor will help them. They are putting their faith in the doctor, and God will honor that.

Doctors can keep people alive until they discover there is a better way.

God’s Word may be medicine to all our flesh, but just like other medicine, we have to take it. If we just put it on the shelf and look at it, it won’t do us any good.

How do we take God’s medicine? We hear it and hear it and hear it.

Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.”

When we take the time to continually hear God’s Word our faith hooks up and releases God’s power and we rise up healed!

God is interested in healing us if we are sick. He is also interested in keeping us well.

He has made provision for our healing and our health God’s Medicine

What are those provisions? What are our rights? What actually belongs to us when it comes to physical healing and health”

How can we tell What belongs to us? There is only one way.

By a constant, careful, diligent, reverent, prayerful study of God’s word

Suppose you go to the doctor and get a prescription that says Take two capsules, three times a day, before meals

If you expect that prescription to work for you

Then you would take it according to directions

Did you know that God gives directions for taking His prescription?

He prescribes His word for our health.Because He says

My words are life unto those that find them

And my words are health, or medicine, to all there flesh

Medicine even in the natural, won’t do you any good unless you take it

You could go to the doctor and he could prescribe you some medicine

You could go home set that medicine on the chest of drawers

Or even table right beside your bed

And could still grow worse

You could call the doctor and say “I don’t understand it

I Got prescription filled, I paid money for it, but I am getting worse

Doctor may ask, are you taking it according to directions?

Well no! but I’ve got it right here in the bottle by my bed

It won’t work just because it’s in the bottle, YOU HAVE TO GET IT IN YOU

God’s medicine won’t work just because

You have a bible lying on the chest of drawers

It won’t even work just because you read it

It won’t work just because you memorize a few scriptures

Just because you say I believe in verbal inspiration of the Word of God

But it will work if you will get it down on the inside of you! Into your heart

The way you do that is

Not by just reading and forgetting about it

But by meditating on it

By thinking on it

By feeding on it

Until it becomes a part of your inward man

God’s medicine is His word—and here are His directions for taking it

Proverbs 4:20-22

20 ¶ My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.

21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.

23 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. {health: Heb. medicine}

My son, attend to my words;

What does He mean “attend”

Attend means to pay attention, to listen, to hear

He means to put His Word first

Make it first place in your life

You could go down town see someone you know and try to talk to them

They might say can’t talk right now I am late for an appointment

They mean no disrespect,

But they have something else to do first

There is something else he has to give his undivided attention to.

That is the way it needs to be with God’s Word, give it first place.

Incline thine ear unto my sayings

Open your ears, God said

To My sayings

Incline your ear to what?

To my sayings, open our ear to what God has to say

I don’t understand it you may say

God doesn’t ask us to understand His Word

All He ask us to do is believe it.

Prov. 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Trust in the Lord, we are to put our trust in Him

Not our own understanding

Our mind will tell us that won’t work

But if God’s word says it will then it will work

I don’t understand how a lot of things work

But Thank God they do

You can’t give an explanation for the natural viewpoint of just how the new birth works

Just by believing Jesus, receiving Him, and confessing Him you become born again

I can’t tell a person how divine healing works

But I do know that faith makes it work

That’s why God said put My Word first, Attend to my Words

Incline your ear to my word

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

When God’s Word gains entrance into your heart, into your spirit

Faith will be there automatically

You won’t have to seek

You won’t have to search

There will be no effort on your part

Faith will come unconsciously into your spirit

As you feed upon and accept His Words

Faith is the clue. It is the secret It is the secret in the healings’ Jesus performed when he was upon the earth

He said to the centurion, “Go thy way, and as thou hast believed,so be it done unto thee” (Mat. 8:13)

And in the selfsame hour his servant was healed

Woman with the issue of blood touched His garment He said

Daughter thy faith hath made thee whole, go in peace & be whole of thy plague (Mark 5:34)

Mark 5:23 Jairus said “come lay thy hands on her and she shall live…”

Then came woman with issue of blood

She fell down before him and told him all the truth

Then some one from Jairus house came and said don’t trouble the master, your daughter is dead

Jesus said “be not afraid, only believe” …

Mat. 9:28 two blind men came saying have mercy on us…

Jesus said believe ye that I am able to do this

They said “Ye lord”

He said according to your faith be it unto your

Faith is what make divine healing work

God has told us exactly how faith comes

Rom. 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing…

We know it comes

From where does it come ?

Faith cometh by hearing,

It doesn’t come by seeing,

It doesn’t come by feeling

It comes by hearing

Hearing what? And hearing by the word of God.

It comes by hearing the Word of God

That is why He said, “Incline thine ear unto my saying” That’s how faith comes!

Proverbs 4:22 For they (My Words) are life unto those that find them, and health (or medicine) to all their flesh.

Why don’t Christians if they do get sick, and they do

Take time to find out what God has to say about it

They won’t listen to what God says

Instead they listen to what every body else has to say

People can be right in their hearts, but wrong in their heads

Unless people give you the Word of God on a subject, you can’t listen to what they say

Even preachers; Good men some time give natural advice, and may cause you to miss it

God said “Incline thine ear unto my sayings”

If you are going to listen to God

Sometimes you have to shut out other things

We have to listen to what God has to say in his word to enjoy

The blessings of His Word

Incline thine ear, listen to what God has to say

Does He have any thing to say about sickness

Here is a sample, and we will look at a lot more

Matthew 8:17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

1Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Here Jesus calls sickness satanic oppression

This is God’s Word, it is not my word

He goes on to say

Proverbs 4:21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart

He tells us to look as well as listen

What does He say to listen to? My Words

What does He say to look to?My Words

This has to do with healing, because He talks about life, and health, and medicine in the next verse

So—get the words on healing

Get the words on health

Get God’s Word and look at it

Don’t let it depart from before your eyes

Don’t look at anything else; Just look at the Word

God’s Word says “by whose stripes ye were healed”Past tense

Ye were, and if that word doesn’t depart from before your eyes,

You are bound to see your self well

You will see yourself with what God says belongs to you

If His words doesn’t depart from before your eyes

If you see yourself sick; …unhealed & getting worse

His Word has departed from before your eyes

You are looking at something else

Keep them in the midst of thine heart

That means the very core of your being

In your spirit, your inner man

Psalms 119:11 ¶ Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

We are going to look at how to do this,. How to get His Words in our heart

What are the result of following these directions?

Proverbs 4:22 For they are life unto those that find them, (My Words) and health to all their flesh.

When we get God’s Words on the inside of us they will

Produce healing to all our flesh

LETS LOOK AT HOW TO APPLY GOD MEDICINE IT IS TO BE APPLIED FROM THE HEART

God’s medicine like all His provisions—salvation for instance—is to be applied from the heart, the spirit

Many times people read certain promises, They maybe even able to quote them

They endeavor to act upon them without really getting them into their heart

Without getting them in their spirits

It is more in there head than in their heart

Some times we may not need to pray right away

If it is healing that we need, then we need to find scriptures on healing

Then we need to read and meditate on them

To get them established in our heart

Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success

Meditate means to utter, speak to meditate, imagine; to mutter

Psalms 1:1 ¶ Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

Psalms 1:2But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

Ps. 63:5-6 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:

When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

We have to get the Word of God. That is God’s Medicine built into our spirit

Your spouse may know about cooking

She can sit at table with nothing on it & explain a delicious recipe, every ingredient

Just how to make it

But just because she knows all that it won’t get anything in your stomach

It won’t put anything in her stomach

You have to cook up the dish, you know how to fix

You can prepared and set it on the table

Just because it is on the table you still have to do something with it

To get the benefits from it

That’s how it is with the bible,

It’s right there we talk about it,

We discuss the scriptures and quote them

But it really doesn’t get in us.

It doesn’t get down into our spirits like it should

That’s why it doesn’t work for us

TO KEEP YOUR FAITH STRONG, KEEP FEEDING IT

You need to constantly feed along the lines of faith and healing

You may have had a T-Bone steak

You may know how good it taste d

But just because you have had one that doesn’t meant you don’t want another one

Continual feeding and exercising of the body keeps it strong

Continually feeding the spirit keeps it strong

We need to constantly feed along the line of faith and Healing

Every day we need to read along the lines of faith and healing

One day you will need it

The time will come that you need faith, either for yourself or for some member of your family

If you haven’t kept your faith strong

You will be at a disadvantage

Here is God’s medicine, scriptures to study, to read, to meditate on, to speak, to build into your spirit

HEALING IN THE ATONEMENT

Isaiah 53:4-5 ¶ Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. {wounded: or, tormented} {stripes: Heb. bruise}

In this verse the word”borne” (nasa) means to lift up, to bear away, to convey, or to remove to a distance. It is a Levitical word, and is applied to the scapegoat that bare away the sins of the people

Lev 16:22

So Jesus bore my sins and sicknesses away “without” the camp” to the cross.

Sin and sickness have passed from me to Calvary. Salvation and health have passed from Calvary to me.

The word griefsis from the Greek word 2483 choliy khol-ee’

It is translated sickness 12 times, disease 7 seven times, grief 4 times and sick 1;

It means sickness 20 out of 24 times its translated sickness, disease, or sick

Isaiah 53:11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

Again, in this 4th verse of the Redemption Chapter the Hebrew verbs for “borne and carried” (nasa and sabal) are both the same as are used in the 11th and 12th verses for the substitutionary bearing of sin.

“He shall bear (carry) their iniquities,” and ” He shall bear the sin of many.”

Both words signify to assume as a heavy burden, and denote actual substitution, and a complete removal of the things borne.

When Jesus bore our sins, our sicknesses and our pains, He bore them away, or removed them

Both these words mean substitution, one bearing another’s load

Matthew 8:16-17 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:

17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses

This is referring to Isa. 53 4-5 the verses we just looked at

1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Here again this verse refers to Isa. 53:4-5

“Sickness is the foul offspring of its father, satan, and its mother, sin.”Alexander Dowie.

Jesus bore our sins on His body, and sickness is a direct descendant of sin.

Not only did He bare our sickness, He bore the root cause of all sickness

If there had been no sin, there would have been no sickness

Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

According to Deut. 28:15-22;27-29;35-61 all sickness and disease is a curse of the law

Deuteronomy 28:61Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed

HEALING IS THE WILL OF THE FATHER

Exodus 15:26:… for I am the LORD that healeth thee.

Exodus 23:25-26 And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.

26There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfill.

2 Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.

Psalms 91:10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

The Word Plague means disease

Psalms 91:16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. {long…: Heb. length of days}

We can live till we are satisfied

Psalms 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

There are benefits to serving the Lord

He forgives all thine iniquities

He heals all your diseases

Psalms 107:20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction’s.

Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Matthew 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

You give good things to your children. How much more… will God give unto them that ask

James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Matthew 8:2 And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

Matthew 8:3 And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

Jesus said Himself in John 6:38“For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.”

Every thing Jesus did in His earth walk was the will of the Father

He was the will of God in action

If you want to know the will of the Father, look at Jesus

HEALING THE WORKS OF JESUS

Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Here is a fact to settle in your heart,

Jesus is the healer

Satan is the oppressor

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

The thief is the devil or adversary and he comes to steal, kill and to destroy, if it does any of those it is the devil not God.

That is a good way to find out if it is from God, does it give you life, provide life or bless you, or does it rob hurt or destroy? God came to give us life and life more abundantly

Matthew 9:35 ¶ And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

Matthew 15:30-31 And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them:

31 Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.

Hebrews 13:8Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

HEALING IS A MINISTRY OF THE CHURCH

John 14:12 ¶ Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Mark 16:17-18 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

James 5:14-15 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

3 John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. {wish: or, pray}

HEALING IS God AT WORK WITHIN

1 John 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

FAITH FOR HEALING

Mark 11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

PRAYER OF FAITH

Mark 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Confession

God’s Word has the power to effect healing in my body, I hear the Word and faith rise in me, releasing God’s power and producing what I need.
