The bible says in Acts 10:38 “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”
So we see that Jesus went about doing good and healing all, the bible says that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. Heb. 13:8
Therefore Jesus (the Word John 1:1) is still doing good and healing today. Many think that when bad things happen that God is the one doing it, but the bible says in John 10:10 that it is the thief that comes to kill still and destroy.
Jesus came to give us life and give it to us more abundantly.
Many people blame God for sickness or disease, and they wonder why God put that on them,
God is not working against Himself.
The bible says in:
Mt 8:16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with [his] word, and healed all that were sick:
Mt 8:17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare [our] sicknesses
If Jesus took our infirmities and he bare our sickness, then he is not making people sick, the bible plainly tells us that it is satan that kills, steals, and destroys.
Let’s establish the fact that God is good and the devil is bad,
Jas 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
If it is not good and perfect it is not from God, and I have never seen a good sickness or disease, have you?
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly.
God is not a thief, therefore if any thing steals, if anything kills or if any thing destroys, it is not from God .
Many blame God for the things that the devil does, and in many cases it turns people away from God .
Would you want to serve a God that makes you sick?
Some have said even Ministers that at the death of a young child, that God took them, because he needed another flower in heaven.
How do you think an unbelieving father would take that? He would say if that is the way God is, I don’t want to serve him.
Another Scripture in Luke 13 talks about the woman with a spirit of infirmity, this lady had been bound for 13 years, when Jesus made her whole and the rulers and the religious leaders got mad because it was the Sabbath, he said to them;
Lu 13:16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?
Notice that it was satan that had bound her or made her sick, for 18 years.
The bible plainly tells us that Jesus himself bore our sickness, and he took our diseases.
Lets look at some scriptures
Isa 53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
The Hebrew word for griefs is translated sickness 12 times and disease 7 times and literal means sickness
Isa 53:5 But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Lets look at some other translations
The bible in Basic English says
Isa 53:4 But it was our pain he took, and our diseases were put on him: while to us he seemed as one diseased, on whom God’s punishment had come.
Isa 53:5 But it was for our sins he was wounded, and for our evil doings he was crushed: he took the punishment by which we have peace, and by his wounds we are made well.
The Youngs Literal Translation
Isa 53:4 Surely our sicknesses he hath borne, And our pains—he hath carried them, And we—we have esteemed him plagued, Smitten of God, and afflicted.
Isa 53:5 And he is pierced for our transgressions, Bruised for our iniquities, The chastisement of our peace [is] on him, And by his bruise there is healing to us.
The Amplified
Isa 53:4 Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows pains of punishment yet we ignorantly; considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God as if with leprosy
Isa 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement ;needful to obtain ; peace well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes ;that wounded ; Him we are healed made whole
We can see by this scripture that Jesus took our pains and our sicknesses, if He took them and He bore them, then there is no need for us to.
And it was by the strips that were place upon his body that provided healing for us.
The bible says that by the mouth of two or three witness let every word be established.
2Co 13:1 ¶ This [is] the third [time] I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. So that is one, lets look at some others.
1Pe 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Here again we see the Apostle Peter, saying that Jesus bare our sins when he was on the tree (cross) and it was by His strips that we were healed.
Were is past tense, In Isa. 53 it says that by His strips ye are, that is looking to the future, but here in 1 Peter he said that we were healed that means that Jesus provided healing for us when he was on the Cross.
Another Scripture in Mat. 8:16-17 > When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with [his] word, and healed all that were sick:
Mt 8:17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare [our] sicknesses.
Verse 17 Matthew is quoting Isaiah chapter 53
If Jesus is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow he is still providing healing for us today, healing is going to come through his word.
